At the weekend 5 of our leadership team Mark, Bruce, Stuart, Alex and Mark II joined the Clyde hills team on an adventure to Binnein an Fhidhleir in the Arrochar Alps.
It was a snowy day with so harsh winds but a great day was had by all with plenty of new skills learned by all.

At the weekend 16 Explorers and 9 Scouts descended upon Auchengillan Outdoor Centre for SubZero! It was a cold weekend with lows of -1°C living up to the name of ‘SubZero’. Over the course of the weekend our young people had the chance to try: Segways, Mud Karts, Paradrop, Climbing, Archery, Air Rifle Shooting and many more activities! There was even an outdoor pool party. The weekend was a great opportunity and great experience for all involved.

Our next fundraising event for the year is our annual race night which takes place on the 28th April!
It’s an interactive race night and is always a great laugh. We hope to see as many people as possible on night. The funds raised on the night will mainly be for our trip to Kandersteg in Switzerland this summer where 35 Scouts and Explorers will be going.

Last night seen our first fundraising event of the year our Burns Night Ceilidh where our wonderful dancers managed to raise £718.42!
We had a live band and full licensed bar on the night. It was a great night!

Our fundraising team have been busy planning our first fundraising event for 2018!
New for 2018 we will be having a on Saturday 27th January in the Scout hall.
Tickets for the event will be £10 per person. This includes a live ceilidh band on the evening, a wee dram of whiskey and a taster of haggis, neeps and tatties.
There will be a full bar on the night so the event is for over 18s only.
Given that we need a dance floor for a wee jig the tickets will be limited so buy them quick to avoid disappointment!
All funds raised go towards keeping your child’s scouting adventure going and providing the much-needed funds for the hall structural works. We hope this event will prove a great success, as always we need your support to make it great!

Another great fundraising event took place on Saturday 25th December, our annual Christmas Fayre. It was a great day with lots of in house stalls with everything from crafts to tombolas. We even had a visit from the big man himself…Santa!
With a great turnout and the huge support the day received from family, friends and local community we managed to raise a record breaking £1824.15 and 5 cent! Thanks to all those who made it such a success. The funds will go a long way achieving the much needed funds for the hall structural works.
Saturday 28th October seen our second Halloween party fundraiser. Building on the success for the 2016 party this year we managed to raised the fantastic amount of £779.95!
A great night was had by all in attendance with plenty of games with prizes to be won! Some hotdogs and burgers were on sale at our BBQ…same time next year?
26 Scouts, 6 Explorers and 4 Leaders had a great week at Auchengillian. There was a huge variety of activities for our young people to take part in from zorbing to hill walking there was something for everyone.
The rain over the week did not stop us having a great time!
Six of our fantastic Scouts took part in the Calder District Camping Competition at Barrword this weekend. They were tested on various skills from map reading to cooking. We are very please to announce they came in first place! A huge well done Scouts, great achievement.
Well done to all the patrols who took part in the event and thanks to all the leaders who made the event possible!
Our Family Fun Day will take place on Saturday 10th June from 11am till 2pm. This is a great day for all the family with plenty of activities for all!
£2.50 entry for adults but this includes a drink with a hotdog/burger. Kids entry free.
