The Group uses Online Scout Manager to help keep things running smoothly. This system holds information about the adult leaders, members, progress and events. It can be used to pay subscriptions, gift aid tracking and book and pay for activities. This is a well used system and at the time of writing is was trusted by: 106,316 leaders, 37,554 sections and 11,475 groups. It’s a great time saver for leaders and parents – we couldn’t run our sections without it!
Parents/guardians can access the information held about their Beaver(s), Cub(s), Scout(s) or Explorer(s) and see their progress using their own interface to this, known as My.SCOUT. Note this is available to you at no cost – the Group are paying for it.
How to access the System for the First Time?
When you child joins any of our sections you will be prompted to fill out an online consent form – this is a link sent to the email address you registered your child with. You should receive this before they start a section or within the first week. If you haven’t please contact your section leader. Please read the explanation message at the top of the personal details myscout page before completing the form.
Any information the you should know can be posted here by leaders – often this will be blank.
Payments (Beavers and Cubs only)
Monthly subscriptions for Beavers and Cubs are paid via this system using GoCardless – this is much easier for us and we believe it is easier for you too! Using this system is very safe as direct debits are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee, and GoCardless (the payment system) is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Please note Scouts & Explorers have different systems for payment in place – please speak to you section leader if you have any questions.
Gift Aid – for all sections a gift aid declaration request will be sent via email. This allows us to claim 25p for every £1 you pay in subscriptions – AT NO COST TO YOU! All you have to be is a UK taxpayer.
Event across the group are now booked via the OSM system. Payments are automatically requested for Beavers and Cubs using GoCardless. Scouts and Explorers use a different system – please speak to your section leader for more information.
- Programme for our Beaver & Cub sections can be view via OSM. This will give you an idea of what your child is doing each week and if there are any special notes such as no uniform etc.
- For Scouts and Explorers the programme can be viewed via the website on the relevant section pages.
- For Beavers and Cubs this gives you a nice pictorial overview of how your child’s uniform should look and where badges go. It should show you all the badges your child should have and any they have partially completed.
- For Scouts and Explorers please speak to your section leader if you’d like to be able to see your child’s badge progress.
